Singapore – Officers from the Central Police Division, Clementi Police Division, the elite Gurkha Contingent, the Special Operations Command (SOC), and the Home Team Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Command were deployed to apprehend six men who entered Singapore illegally on Friday (Sept 24).

The Bukit Batok Nature Reserve was sealed off as officers from various divisions conducted a search operation for the six men, aged between 19 and 51. Witnesses reported seeing red vehicles from the SOC lined up near Bukit Batok’s forested area, creating a tense atmosphere as the operation unfolded, as noted by Chinese newspaper Lianhe Zaobao.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed the incident, stating that search operations were conducted in the Bukit Batok Nature Park, Toh Tuck, and Clementi areas. Police investigations are ongoing.

By Saturday morning (Sept 25), police officers, along with vehicles from the Singapore Civil Defence Force and SOC, remained stationed near the forested area along Bukit Batok Street 25.

According to Mothership, the six men were charged in court on Saturday for unlawful entry into Singapore under Section 6(1) of the Immigration Act, Chapter 133. If found guilty of this offense, each man could face up to six months in prison and three strokes of the cane.

Earlier in August, eight men were caught for allegedly entering Singapore illegally. The Police Coast Guard’s surveillance system detected them attempting to swim to shore after jumping off an unnumbered fiberglass boat near Tuas.
