A fresh take on the classic horror-comedy series brings supernatural thrills.
Fans of R.L. Stine’s iconic Goosebumps books can look forward to a new live-action adaptation, arriving soon on Disney+. This 10-episode series focuses on five high school students who inadvertently release supernatural forces in their town. As they struggle to fix the chaos, they uncover hidden secrets about their parents’ pasts while dealing with friendships and rivalries. Written by Nick Stoller and Rob Letterman, the show promises a blend of comedy, horror, and mystery. Unlike the ’90s show, it follows the format of Sony’s recent films starring Jack Black.
This new series has been in development since April 2020, but no official release date has been announced. It will draw inspiration from more than 200 Goosebumps titles, including the main series and spinoffs, which are available in over 32 languages worldwide through Scholastic Publishing.
