Fans Pay Heartfelt Tributes to the Late Actor
Singapore — It has been three years since actor Aloysius Pang tragically lost his life in an accident during military training, yet his memory continues to resonate with fans.
Mr. Pang died following a live-firing exercise at the Waiouru Training Area in New Zealand. On January 19, 2019, while checking the gun mechanism inside a Singapore Self-Propelled Howitzer, the barrel was inadvertently lowered, striking him in the chest and abdomen. Despite undergoing multiple surgeries in an attempt to save him, he succumbed to his injuries just four days later, at the young age of 28.
On January 23, the anniversary of his passing, netizens flocked to the actor’s last Instagram post, shared by one of his brothers on the same date in 2019. Fans expressed their heartfelt tributes in the comments, with one writing, “Still missing you after all this time.” Many others echoed similar sentiments.
Singaporean actress Carrie Wong also left a comment on the post, highlighting the impact Mr. Pang had on his peers. Earlier this month, it was announced that the last film he was working on before his untimely death is set to be released later this year.
Mr. Dasmond Koh, founder of Pang’s management agency, NoonTalk Media, emphasized that completing the film would serve as a tribute to the late actor. “The plan was for him to return to Singapore after his military training in New Zealand, shoot a television drama, and then spend another week in Thailand to finish filming the movie,” Mr. Koh shared with Lianhe Zaobao.
He confirmed that production has resumed, with NoonTalk talents Xu Bin and Damien Teo currently in Thailand for filming. K-Pop star Bae Jin-young, a member of the group CIX, is also set to make his acting debut in the film, which features Pang in a supernatural role.
On January 13, NoonTalk Media announced on Facebook and Instagram their collaboration with Bae Jin-young on this special project, promising to share more information soon with their #NoonTalkFamily.
