Malaysian Actor Nazrief Nazri’s 2-Month-Old Baby Tests Positive for COVID-19

Actor shares his concern as his infant son battles the virus.

Malaysia — On September 22, Malaysian actor Nazrief Nazri took to Instagram to share concerning news about his family. He reposted an Instagram story from his wife, entrepreneur Aziatul Aqma Hamdan, revealing that their two-month-old son, Noah, had tested positive for COVID-19.

Aziatul explained that Noah underwent a routine polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test as part of preparations for his scheduled circumcision, only to discover the positive result for the virus. She noted, “Noah didn’t have any major symptoms, just a little phlegm,” in her Instagram story.

In an interview with Malaysian news portal mStar, Nazrief expressed his surprise at the diagnosis. “We’ve never taken Noah out at all, only around our neighborhood, and my wife and I have strictly adhered to all the standard operating procedures (SOPs). Other than us, Noah had no close contact with anyone except the hospital staff who handled him during the check-up,” he elaborated.

The actor confirmed that both he and his wife are fully vaccinated and had tested negative for the virus. The family is currently quarantined at home until September 30. Fortunately, Nazrief reported that Noah’s condition remains stable, and he is recovering well.

“I’m not trying to point fingers, but our baby didn’t meet anyone else; it’s odd because we only went to the hospital,” Nazrief remarked. He also advised other parents to be cautious during hospital visits, suggesting, “It’s best to not let other people or nurses hold your child. If you’re weighing your child, it’s better if you hold them yourself because we can’t tell whether the person who’s holding your child has had contact with others prior.”

Nazrief Nazri is widely recognized for his role as Adam in the TV series Demi Cinta Ain and has also appeared in productions such as Oh My English and Nasi Minyak Kuah Cinta.
