Explore Sentosa Without Paying: Free Entry Alternatives Unveiled
SINGAPORE — Sentosa will resume its island entry fee from April 1, following an extension of the free entry measure until March 31. This initiative was originally introduced in March 2020 to encourage visitors to explore Sentosa during the pandemic, allowing access without charge, whether via the Sentosa MRT or by car.
According to the latest updates on the Sentosa website, March 31 will mark the final day of free admission to the island.
Fee Structure Reinstated
With the gradual return to normalcy, Sentosa has decided to reinstate the island entry fee, which will remain the same as before the pandemic. Visitors using the Sentosa Express MRT will be charged $4 for entry. Discounts are available for seniors, persons with disabilities, primary and secondary students, ITE students, and holders of employment concession fare cards, bringing the fee down to $2. Children under three years of age can still enter the island for free.
For those arriving by car or taxi, the entry fee will be $6 during peak hours from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Alternatively, entry will cost $2 during off-peak hours from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM the next day.
Free Entry Alternatives
Despite the reinstatement of the entry fee, there are still ways to access Sentosa without cost. Visitors can enter the island for free on foot, via SBS Transit bus No. 123, or by bicycle.
Additionally, to facilitate the expansion of the Beach Station, the Sentosa MRT will adjust its operating hours. From October last year until March 31 this year, the Beach Station will operate until 10 PM from Monday to Thursday, except on public holidays and holiday eves.
For those needing to leave Sentosa between 10:00 PM and 12:00 AM from Monday to Thursday, a free shuttle bus service will be available to transport them to VivoCity and Harbourfront Bus Interchange.
