FAST leverages AI-powered summaries to deliver essential news for busy readers.
SINGAPORE: CNA has launched a new feature called FAST, designed to help busy readers stay informed with ease. Available from Thursday (Mar 21) on the CNA app and website, FAST offers concise story summaries that users can quickly swipe through, resembling the experience of TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Stories.
Users can access FAST via a button located at the bottom right of the CNA homepage and app, or directly from articles featuring the FAST option. Each FAST card allows readers to click through to the full story, share key points, or swipe to the next summary.
Generative AI at Work
The summaries on FAST are crafted by CNA’s reporters and editors, supported by generative AI technology. Every summary undergoes editorial review to ensure accuracy before being published.
This initiative is part of CNA’s celebration of its 25th anniversary, during which other AI-driven features, such as audio versions of articles, were also introduced. Speaking at a gala dinner marking the occasion, Mediacorp Chairman Niam Chiang Meng highlighted the integration of AI as a means to enhance newsroom efficiency and develop new capabilities.
Stay Updated with “Catch Up”
In addition to FAST, CNA offers the “Catch Up” function on its app. This feature provides a list of notifications from the past 30 days, ensuring users stay on top of breaking news and highlighted stories.
As CNA continues to innovate, the FAST experience will evolve with reader feedback, expanding to include more content types in the future.
