Nutanix report highlights AI as a top priority alongside sustainability and cybersecurity initiatives.
SINGAPORE: Nutanix’s sixth global Enterprise Cloud Index (ECI) report has revealed that artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a cornerstone of modernization for organizations in Singapore. The findings spotlight the rising importance of AI in shaping the nation’s IT landscape, with Chief Information Officers (CIOs) leading efforts to integrate these technologies.
The study shows that 60% of Singaporean businesses have designated AI implementation as their top priority, significantly outpacing the regional and global averages of 48% and 45%, respectively. Moreover, 89% of these enterprises plan to increase their investments in AI, underscoring the growing demand for cutting-edge solutions.
Bridging Challenges with IT Modernization
Despite the enthusiasm, organizations are grappling with challenges in deploying AI effectively due to infrastructure limitations. To address these hurdles, companies are ramping up IT modernization and edge infrastructure development to improve data processing capabilities and accessibility.
Singaporean businesses are also focusing on hybrid multicloud infrastructure to balance innovation with security. An impressive 99% of surveyed organizations are adopting a “cloud smart” strategy, utilizing diverse environments such as data centers, public cloud, and edge computing. This adoption rate surpasses the global average of 90%, signaling a strong executive commitment to digital transformation.
Cybersecurity and Sustainability in Focus
The report also highlights vulnerabilities in cybersecurity, with 97% of organizations acknowledging gaps in their defenses against ransomware and malware. Nearly two-thirds of those impacted by cyberattacks reported extended recovery times, prompting a third of organizations to consider significant investments in bolstering security measures.
Sustainability has emerged as another key priority, with 92% of businesses in Singapore committed to advancing green initiatives, surpassing the global average of 88%. Around 76% of enterprises plan to increase investments in sustainable technologies this year.

Ho Chye Soon, Nutanix’s Country Manager for Singapore, emphasized the challenges and opportunities ahead. “Data management remains a challenge across the nation, particularly as enterprises seek to leverage AI, improve cybersecurity, and achieve sustainability goals,” he stated.
