Disney’s ‘Frozen’ Broadway Musical Set to Debut in Singapore in February 2023; Auditions for Young Elsa and Anna Now Open

Girls aged 8 to 11 have the chance to audition for the iconic roles as Disney’s beloved musical makes its Singapore debut.

Young girls who have always dreamed of performing in “Let It Go” (and let’s be honest, who hasn’t?) may soon get their chance, as the much-anticipated musical Frozen is set to open in Singapore on February 5, 2023.
Auditions for the younger versions of the lead characters—sisters Elsa and Anna—have been announced, and interested candidates can apply now. However, applications must be submitted by October 2.
This production, based on Disney’s 2013 blockbuster film, is produced by Base Entertainment Asia, which operates the Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands.
Girls aged between 8 and 11 years from any cultural background are eligible to audition. (Base Entertainment notes that only those who turn 8 by February 1, 2023, will be considered.)
“Birth certificates must be presented on the audition day to verify age,” the company stated.

Here are the specific requirements for the two roles:
For Elsa, the height requirement is between 140 and 142 cm. She is described as the “bright, poised, elder princess of Arendelle who adores her younger sister. She strives to be the perfect daughter but struggles with a dangerous talent.”
Aspiring actresses for Anna, the younger sister, must measure between 125 and 127 cm tall. Anna is characterized as the “energetic, free-spirited younger princess of Arendelle who is enchanted by Elsa’s every word and movement. She is heartbroken when their parents isolate her from Elsa.”
The company emphasized that there is no flexibility regarding the height requirements, and measurements will be taken before the auditions begin.
Auditions will take place on October 8 and 9 at the Sands Theatre of Marina Bay Sands, with registration starting at 8 AM.
Those interested in joining the priority waitlist for ticket purchases may sign up here to receive a 10% discount, valid until 11:59 PM on October 9.

“Frozen is about a return from isolation and community healing. We are excited to present this beautiful show at this pivotal moment, and we can’t wait for audiences to experience its remarkable cast, crew, and orchestra on the same stage that has been our home in Singapore for years,” said Felipe Gamba, Vice President for International Strategy and Licensed Partnerships at Disney Theatrical Productions.
