Ever Dragon Foodstuff’s Operations Halted Due to Serious Pest Infestation

Singapore Food Agency discovers dead cockroaches and rodents at the manufacturing unit.

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has temporarily suspended the operations of Ever Dragon Foodstuff’s manufacturing unit due to a significant pest infestation. An inspection conducted on June 15 at their facility located at 3020 Ubi Avenue 2 revealed the presence of both live and dead cockroaches, as well as rodent activity and decomposed rodents in the processing area on the mezzanine level.

The SFA noted several lapses in the maintenance of the premises, prompting the agency to take action. Ever Dragon Foodstuff is identified as a manufacturer of non-dairy creamer.

“In the interest of public health, SFA directed the licensee to address these issues and implement measures to enhance the cleanliness of its facility,” the agency stated. As a result, food operations have been suspended indefinitely from June 15.

To safeguard consumer health, SFA also instructed Ever Dragon Foodstuff to recall its ‘you tiao’ products that had been distributed to various food stalls.

The SFA emphasized that food safety is a collective responsibility, as contamination can occur at any point in the food supply chain. The agency remains vigilant in enforcing regulatory measures, but it also calls on the industry and consumers to fulfill their roles in maintaining food safety.

“All food operators must ensure their premises are clean, well-maintained, and that their staff are adequately trained in proper food safety management,” SFA added. Operators failing to comply with these regulations may face fines up to S$5,000, imprisonment for up to 12 months, or both.

Members of the public who observe poor hygiene practices in food establishments are encouraged to avoid patronizing those places and to report their concerns at www.sfa.gov.sg/feedback for follow-up investigations.
