Go Soo Shares Emotional Journey Filming Missing: The Other Side Season 2

The actor reveals the touching moments that brought him to tears during the production of the supernatural K-drama.

A drama focused on death might seem overly somber, but it can also radiate warmth. Korean actor Go Soo recently revealed in an interview with AsiaOne that he experienced genuine emotions while filming the second season of the supernatural K-drama Missing: The Other Side.
“All the stories in the drama are incredibly touching, and they served as a significant source of inspiration while we were filming,” shared the 44-year-old actor, who portrays Kim Wook.
“There were moments when tears would just roll down my cheeks, even when I only saw the back of the deceased,” he added.
“I hope the audience can appreciate each episode. Although the theme and genre may present the drama as serious, the narratives within infuse it with life and joy.”

The first season of this fantasy mystery series follows conman Kim Wook, who stumbles upon a supernatural village inhabited by spirits of murder victims whose bodies remain undiscovered. Kim Wook collaborates with Jang Pan-seok (Huh Joon-ho), who is already acquainted with the village, to unravel the mysteries surrounding their deaths.
The events of the second season unfold two years after the village’s disappearance. Kim Wook continues to assist those in distress but finds it challenging to make a living. He becomes involved in a cold case from two decades ago and embarks on solving new mysteries alongside Pan-seok.

In a separate article on Naver, Go Soo mentioned, “Unlike previous roles where I played characters with clear arcs, I focused more on Kim Wook’s fundamental personality rather than his storyline while performing.
“Kim Wook interacts with various individuals and faces numerous situations as he navigates between the real world and the spiritual village… I aimed to portray him in an open manner, without too many preconceptions.”

Go Soo also noted that the cast’s chemistry and comfort level improved significantly compared to the first season.
“As we progressed into the second season, everything became more comfortable. The film set felt inviting, playing Kim Wook was enjoyable, and the chemistry among the cast and crew was remarkable,” he expressed.
Missing: The Other Side Season 2 is currently available for streaming on Viu, while Season 1 can be found on both Viu and Netflix.
