K-drama Itaewon Class is Getting a Japanese Remake

The 13-part series, tentatively titled Roppongi Class, is set to air in Japan this summer.

Fans of the hit K-drama Itaewon Class can look forward to a Japanese remake. On March 24, JTBC confirmed that they are working with Kakao Entertainment, Kross Pictures, and a major Japanese broadcaster on the project. Titled Roppongi Class, the remake is scheduled to air this summer and will feature 13 episodes with prominent Japanese actors. The original series, based on a popular webtoon, achieved international success, including topping Netflix Japan’s charts and winning awards like Best Drama Series at the 2021 Asian Television Awards.
