Transitioning from CEO of Business China to the tech giant.
SINGAPORE — Member of Parliament (MP) Tin Pei Ling has officially taken on the role of Director of Public Affairs and Policy at Grab Singapore, as confirmed by the tech company in a statement on Wednesday (February 1).
“Pei Ling brings a profound understanding of the digital economy and smart nation policies, along with strong connections to the local community. She will focus on building partnerships and programs that leverage technology to create a positive impact in Singapore,” a spokesperson from Grab said.
Ms. Tin commenced her new position in January and recently attended Grab’s Chinese New Year appreciation lunch for drivers and delivery partners in her official capacity.
Before her appointment at Grab, she served as the chief executive officer of Business China, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering Singapore-China relations, since May 2018. She shared a LinkedIn post two months ago on her final day at the organization but continues to serve as a board member, as indicated on her profile.
Previously, Ms. Tin held the position of group director of corporate strategy at Jing King Technology Group, now known as Adera Global, which specializes in fintech solutions and smart technology. Additionally, she worked as a business and management consultant at Ernst & Young Advisory before entering politics.
Elected to Parliament in 2011 under the People’s Action Party, Ms. Tin is currently the MP for MacPherson SMC. She also chairs the Government Parliamentary Committee (GPC) for Communications and Information and is a member of the GPC for Culture, Community and Youth. She is recognized for advocating issues related to the elderly, youth, women, and the digital economy.
