Workers’ Party Leader emphasizes support for constituents and smooth operations during MP Faisal Manap’s recovery.
SINGAPORE: The Workers’ Party (WP) vice-chairman and Aljunied GRC MP Faisal Manap is recovering after suffering a cardiac condition that placed him in the ICU earlier this week. WP Chief and Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh provided an encouraging update on Wednesday (Jul 26), assuring residents that Mr. Faisal’s health had improved.
In a Facebook post, Mr. Singh recounted his evening house visits at Block 145 Bedok Reservoir Road, where he shared updates with concerned residents. “MP Faisal Manap is much better today, and I thanked everyone for their care and concern,” he wrote.
During Mr. Faisal’s recovery, Hougang SMC MP Png Eng Huat will assist at Kaki Bukit, ensuring continuity in serving constituents. The WP has faced recent challenges, including the resignation of former MP Leon Perera following revelations of an extramarital affair. Despite this, Mr. Singh reaffirmed the party’s commitment to being present on the ground and addressing residents’ needs.
His post also highlighted heartwarming interactions with residents, including meeting a group of active soccer enthusiasts and celebrating the arrival of a new baby in the community. Mr. Singh further promised to address feedback regarding frequent lift breakdowns at the block with the AHTC team and continue following up on other issues raised.
Mr. Singh concluded his update with a commitment to return and complete house visits soon, underscoring the WP’s ongoing engagement with its constituents during a time of transition.
