Experienced centre-back joins on a multi-year deal to strengthen the squad.
St. Louis City SC announced the signing of 28-year-old German centre-back Timo Baumgartl on Friday. The player, who joins as a free agent, has agreed to a contract running through 2026, with an option to extend for 2027. He will take up an international roster spot.
Sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel expressed confidence in Baumgartl’s impact on the team, stating, “Timo’s wealth of European experience will be essential for us next season. His leadership qualities will be a valuable asset, both on the pitch and in the dressing room.”
Baumgartl arrives from FC Schalke 04, where he played in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga. With over 200 professional appearances to his name, he has had stints at VfB Stuttgart, PSV Eindhoven, Union Berlin, and Schalke 04, accumulating extensive experience since 2014.
