Accident causes morning congestion and leaves one hospitalized as authorities investigate
SINGAPORE: Three individuals—a 29-year-old woman and two men, aged 27 and 44—have been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving following a serious accident on the Central Expressway (CTE) toward the Seletar Expressway (SLE) early yesterday morning.
The Singapore Civil Defense Force reported the incident took place at 7:15 am, resulting in heavy congestion as emergency responders managed the scene. Photos shared online showed an overturned lorry surrounded by emergency vehicles, leading to lane closures that extended traffic delays to the Moulmein Road exit.
The accident involved a lorry and three cars, with the 33-year-old lorry driver transported to Tan Tock Seng Hospital in a conscious state. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
